Akon Airport, South Sudan

Project Brief

On July 25, 2022, Warrap State Governor Aleu Ayieny Aleu petitioned to the national government to support the construction of the $15 million Akon International Airport. Construction on the airport began on August 28, 2023, with the project to be completed within two years. Mayleen Corporation was contracted to provide engineering and construction expertise, due to their experience of building within harsh environments.

Project Brief

Our team successfully undertook the comprehensive design, construction, and installation of a construction camp in Kajiado, Kenya, as a vital component of a wind farm project. We utilised modular shipping containers, providing solutions for offices, sanitary facilities, and security infrastructure. Our scope encompassed a wide range of tasks, including civil construction, logistics management, and the supply and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Talus

Project Brief

US-based Talus Renewables has deployed its first modular, containerised ammonia & fertiliser production system in Kenya.The new Talus Renewables plant will use power from an on-site solar farm to produce 1 tonne per day of fertiliser. Talus has also designed a 10 tonne per day facility (requiring 11.5 MW of solar power input), and Kenya Nut plans for larger plants to eventually be deployed and supply nearly all of its daily fertiliser needs. ISM Containers partnered with Talus to provide civil and engineering solutions and well as containerised housing for their equipment.

Project Brief

MGAS specializes in providing clean and affordable cooking solutions for remote areas and is rapidly growing as a Pay-As-You-Go clean cooking business, aiming to enhance gas cooking accessibility in urban households in developing countries. Mgas approached ISM to help design and implement the integration of their technology, into a locally effective “last mile” distribution model. The scope includes the supply and build of containers, civil work, and supporting structures, with “Green” off-grid depots featuring Solar PV, E-TukTuks, and E-bikes.

Project Brief

ISM Containers constructed a three-story container office for Lions Eye Hospital in Loresho, Nairobi. The project’s objective was to quickly establish an administrative block within a constrained space, necessitating the innovative use of stacked containers to create a vertical structure. This approach enabled the efficient utilization of the limited area while meeting the hospital’s urgent need for administrative facilities.

Project Brief

The scope of the Mayfair Office Container Complex included terrain surveying and designing a space-maximizing structure that was both practical and visually appealing, resulting in the Office Container Complex with integrated offices and a boardroom above a structured parking area.

It contains seven individual offices, a large boardroom, and washroom facilities, constructed from recycled shipping containers, which included parking underneath the elevated steel structure.
